Samsung has just brought its new generation of gaming monitors to Brazil. The new features include the Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 models, which combine the high-quality panel with features such as large sizes, high refresh rate, minimum response time, high resolution and extremely futuristic design – in addition to matching prices, of course.

Both feature high-quality OLED screens with deep blacks, vivid colors and a 0.03 ms gray-to-gray response time. The screen received an anti-reflective finish and features OLED Safeguard+, a set of systems that includes logo and fixed bar detection and even liquid cooling ducts to reduce the display temperature and thus prevent burn-in. Both also support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology.

Samsung launched OLED monitors for games in Brazil.

The look includes minimal edges around the display and a frighteningly thin profile, just 3.9 mm thick at the thinnest part. A large circular RGB LED, metallic finish and the ergonomic stand with height, tilt and 90º swivel adjustments come together to offer a very modern design to both devices.

Differences of each model

The Odyssey OLED G6 is the smaller of the two, with 27 inches, QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels) and 360 Hz refresh rate. The G8 is larger and more advanced, with 32 inches and 4K resolution (3840×2160 pixels) – the refresh rate, however, is lower, at 240 Hz.

The more robust model has yet another advantage, the presence of an internal NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, the same as the company’s recent TVs. This not only enables the use of artificial intelligence for intelligent upscaling of images, but also gives access to the Smart Hub, which transforms the monitor into a Tizen smartTV with access to the main streaming apps and features. Among them, Samsung’s Gaming Hub, which includes support for games via streaming via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and NVIDIA GeForce Now.

Prices and promotions

Both Odyssey OLED G6 and G8 are now available for purchase, with the smallest priced at R$6,999 and the largest at R$9,999. Until June 23rd, it is still possible to purchase Samsung’s “pre-registration plus” coupon, which costs R$249, but yields a R$750 discount on the G6 or R$1,000 on the G8.

Furthermore, in a separate promotion, anyone who purchases one of the launches during the valid period gets a R$549 discount to purchase up to 4 other Korean products. This includes the Galaxy Buds FE Bluetooth headset, the Galaxy Fit3 smart bracelet, the Galaxy Tab A9+ tablet or the 47-inch Crystal 4K 3-in-1 TV – if you choose the headphones or smartband, they end up being free .
