The popular messaging app WhatsApp is set to get a major boost soon with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) on some phones. However, the new feature will not be developed in-house, but rather through an alliance with another brand.

According to leak expert Ice Universe, Samsung will expand the feature Simultaneous translation (Live Translate) from the Galaxy AI platform for direct and optimized use in the messenger. The company has not confirmed the information so far, but the profile usually anticipates announcements from the South Korean manufacturer with precision.

The expectation is that the news will be announced during the next Galaxy Unpacked and be part of the update One UI 6.1.1 — meaning it’s likely to be exclusive to Samsung’s most modern and powerful devices that run the brand’s AI platform.

The event will take place next Wednesday, June 10, at 10 am (Brasília time). TecMundo will provide full coverage of the presentation, both on its website and on our YouTube channel.

At the conference, the manufacturer is expected to reveal a series of new devices, such as the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, as well as the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Buds Pro 3 headphones. Galaxy AI should also be a guaranteed presence, perhaps with new skills confirmed.

Galaxy AI on the rise

This type of alliance was already expected. Last week, Samsung itself confirmed that Simultaneous Translation would start to operate with applications from other developers. For now, it is only possible to use the service in the native phone calling application on smartphones.

The feature translates a conversation in real time from one of the 13 pre-selected languages already supported by the platform — both with an artificially generated voice and by displaying the text on the screen.

Samsung often shows examples of the feature for reserving tables at restaurants, answering questions during tourist trips or participating in work meetings with foreigners. In addition, the feature has also appeared on compatible headphones.

It’s also worth remembering that Galaxy AI’s features may not be free for long. The brand has already indicated that, after the end of 2025, it should start charging for some or all of the service’s capabilities.
