During the meeting in a house in Lelystad, he was attacked by several men, abused and forced at gunpoint to transfer cryptocurrency worth approximately 32,000 euros. The suspect is Ivan J., a 22-year-old man from Lelystad, who is on trial for his involvement in this robbery. He has been identified by linking nicknames and telephone numbers to the Marktplaats account, as well as his whereabouts with his brother during the same period, but denies any involvement.

The incident took place on December 3, 2022, when the victim went to Lelystad with his girlfriend and a friend to make the purchase. After entering the house, the situation quickly changed when additional men burst in and assaulted the victim and forced him to transfer his cryptocurrency. This has had both physical and long-term mental consequences for the victim, who is now undergoing trauma therapy to recover. He has asked the court for emotional compensation of 12,000 euros.

Justice has recovered and frozen part of the stolen cryptocurrency, approximately 1.5 bitcoin, which the victim hopes to get back. In addition to the robbery, Ivan J. has also been charged with prohibited possession of weapons. The public prosecutor has demanded 4.5 years in prison and a ban on contact with the victims. The verdict will be announced in two weeks.
