Furthermore, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) appears poised for a bullish crossover. The technical indicator has been giving a bearish signal since March 29.

All in all, Dogecoin is now in a good position to rise further. Considering it is the largest Dog meme coin, other tokens may follow in its footsteps. Ultimately, Dog memes seem to retain the largest market share for the time being, although other types of meme coins are becoming increasingly popular.

Cat & Frog Memes Becoming More Popular

Pepe ($PEPE) is an example of a Frog meme. During the bull market of the past few months, this meme coin managed to reach new heights.

Last year, $PEPE had surprised investors with its meteoric rise to $0.0000037 in early May, but these gains were quickly surpassed by the sharp rise to $0.000010 in early March, a record high.

Since then, the cryptocurrency has cooled to its current value of $0.0000087, which still represents an increase of 203% in a month.

With a market capitalization of $3.7 billion, Pepe ranks #38 in CoinMarketCap’s rankings. This makes it the fourth largest meme coin.

Currently, Pepe’s RSI is hovering at overbought territory at 66. However, the MACD continues to provide a bullish signal, meaning there is still room for growth in the short term.

Cat memes are also becoming increasingly popular. An example of this is Popcat ($POPCAT), a meme coin on Solana that has risen 1,478% in a month.

$MEW does this quite well. With gains of 311.81% in the past week, it has reached a market cap of $614 million in a short time. This puts $MEW in 219th place in the CoinMarketCap rankings.

Interest in the cryptocurrency is very high. This is reflected in the daily trading volume of $380 million.

However, the technical indicators indicate that the $MEW price is likely to correct in the short term. The MACD is giving a bearish signal, while the RSI is currently cooling off from its high near 88.
