American presidential candidate Donald Trump says he can ‘live’ with bitcoin. That is a change in tone and, according to some, a tactic to attract more voters.
Trump has changed his tune on bitcoin. From being anti-bitcoin and calling it a scam during his presidency, Trump now says it’s something he can live with while acknowledging growing demand.
During a recent interview with Fox Network, Trump was asked about his views on the rise of China’s digital currency and whether the right way to combat it is through bitcoin, a decentralized network. Trump responded that the US dollar is still the top currency for him, but at the same time he acknowledged the growing popularity and adoption of bitcoin.
The bitcoin price has been under pressure in recent days and is struggling to rise above the $52,000 level again. However, in two months it will be time for the halving and according to popular analyst Willy Woo, this could lead to huge increases for bitcoin.
Willy Woo writes about a gigantic influx of capital into bitcoin. According to Woo, this amounts to $607 million in new demand for bitcoin, while only $46 million worth of bitcoin is currently being produced per day.
Reddit has unveiled plans to go public on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “RDDT,” according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Interestingly, Reddit revealed in the filing that it has invested in digital assets including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (Eth) and Polygon (Matic), joining the ranks of few companies, such as Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy and Elon Musk’s Tesla, who have directly purchased crypto coins.
