If you want to buy the first price Ferrari, the Roma, which costs 245,000 euros, you will need a little more than three million dogecoin.

In recent months, investors have abandoned dogecoin, Elon Musk’s favorite dog-faced cryptocurrency. But now this cryptocurrency is back in the spotlight thanks to Ferrari.

Indeed, the Italian sports car manufacturer is preparing to authorize payments in dogecoin. Ferrari is not its first attempt given that it is already possible to buy its cars with bitcoins, ether or USDC stablecoins, as declared a spokesperson told Reuters last October.

From now on, this will also be possible in dogecoin. This is the first time that such an emblematic manufacturer has accepted as a means of payment what is called a meme coin, a cryptocurrency that is more of a joke than anything else.

Demand from wealthy clients

Ferrari claims to meet the demand of its wealthy customers. Many crypto millionaires or billionaires have gotten rich in recent years with this type of crypto-asset and now want their sports or luxury car. Ferrari is right on target. At the moment, and for legal reasons, this is only possible for American customers. But this should soon be feasible on the European market.

For the record, if you want to buy the first price Ferrari, the Roma, which costs 245,000 euros, you will need a little more than three million dogecoin. It is currently priced around 7 cents.
