The bitcoin price will shoot to $500,000 next year and perhaps higher. An unprecedented positive prediction from PlanB, the well-known Dutch analyst known for the stock-to-flow model. The S2F model calculates the scarcity of bitcoin in this case by dividing the total supply (stock) by the annual production (flow). The model has many supporters, but also a lot of critics. With the upcoming halving and the increased price, interest in the model is increasing again.
PlanB remains optimistic
The pseudonymous analyst PlanB has shared a detailed analysis and bitcoin price forecast for 2024 and 2025 on YouTube. He points to the S2F chart that bitcoin hit a new all-time high (ATH) for the first time ever before the halving and adds that the “bitcoin value is roughly on the stock-to-flow model line (…) and that is always the case (…) just before the halving and this time too, it is perfect.”
Furthermore, he believes that “the next peak will not be this year, but in the next year – 2025 – and that peak will be (…) much higher than the average of $500,000, so let’s say $600,000, $700,000, or $1 million – so the top will be higher than $500,000 in 2025.”
In addition, the expert shared a Bitcoin Relative Strength Index (RSI) chart, noting that it is at 77, the “highest level ever before a halving, and that is interesting because what we have seen so far is that (…) the RSI turned lower just before the halving, (…) and that is in line with decreasing returns.”
Finally, PlanB concludes its analysis with a graph of bitcoin in profits. In doing so, he suggests that there will be more progress in the future, arguing that “if we look at Bitcoin in gains, which is 100% at ATH levels, everyone is in gains and that will continue for a few more months as we go out of bitcoin’s previous results.” Whether the price continues to rise depends on a large number of factors. Guarantees from the past are no guarantees for the future. Bitcoin is a very volatile currency and risky to invest in.
