South Korean manufacturer Samsung has officially announced a new processor for the company’s next generation of smartwatches. The model is the Exynos W1000which brings considerable improvements over the previous chip.

According to the company, the processor opens apps 2.7 times faster than the previous model of smartwatches, the Exynos W930. In addition, the single-core performance is 3.4 times higher e multi-core outperforms predecessor by 3.7 times.

This component will be used in the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra models, models that have already been partially leaked and are expected to be revealed during the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Exynos W1000 is manufactured on the brand’s own 3nm GAA architecture and is composed of five cores: four 1.5GHz Cortex-A55 and one 1.6GHz Cortex-A78. The GPU is aa Mali-G68 MP2. The processing is necessary for the “advanced AI features for healthcare” speculated for the devices.

With these features, the processor supports screens up to 960 x 540 pixels of resolution and internal storage of maximum 32 GB. The chip also allows the use of location sensors (GPS/GLONASS), NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity of up to 150 Mbps.

Next Galaxy Unpacked is coming soon

Samsung has already confirmed the date of the Galaxy Unpacked conference, which will be responsible for presenting the company’s main launches for the second half of the year. The event takes place on July 10th in Parisin France.

The presentation starts at 10 am (Brasília time) and will have full coverage on TecMundo’s YouTube channel.

Products expected for the presentation include the foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, in addition to the aforementioned smartwatches from the Galaxy Watch 7 line. The Galaxy Watch FE, the brand’s basic smartwatch option, was already announced ahead of time and features the Exynos W920 as its processor.

Also expected at the event are the new pairs of Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro headphones. Details about the launch of the Galaxy Ring smart ring, including details about its price and operation, should finally be revealed by the brand.
